Meet the Creator: Executive Chef Giuseppe Urbano
“I created this platform to make healthy eating simple, enjoyable, and sustainable—one delicious meal at a time.”
With over 38 years in the culinary world, I began to see food not only as tradition and flavor, but as a powerful tool for long-term health.
After more than 15,000 hours of development, I combined culinary experience with modern nutrition science into a structured system designed for everyday life.
This is my way of sharing that knowledge with you.
After a long career in professional kitchens, I felt a calling to impact lives at a different level. My mission now is to use the art of serving food to help you build a healthy future.
Traditional medical education often provides minimal training in nutrition. I have dedicated over 15,000 hours to bridging this gap, deconstructing clinical science into a simple, gourmet system.
I am guided by my faith and a love for the people I serve. As scripture reminds us:
I want to inspire you to realize that eating well is not a chore—it is a masterpiece. My program makes healthy choices effortless and delicious, turning wellness into a natural habit.

What's the Life Expectancy in your country?
Recent national data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows that life expectancy in the United States has recovered to approximately 79 years following the pandemic period, reaching its highest recorded level in 2024. However, public health research continues to emphasize that long-term outcomes are shaped not only by medical care, but increasingly by daily lifestyle patterns, metabolic health, and nutrition quality.
CDC Data Brief No. 548 – Mortality in the United States, 2024
Meals For Longevity was created in response to this reality—translating global nutrition science into simple, structured everyday meals designed to support sustainable healthy living over time.
Traditional Mediterranean dietary patterns, particularly in regions of Italy and surrounding areas, are consistently associated with longer life expectancy and healthier aging. Ongoing research continues to explore how the combination of food quality, structure, and lifestyle habits may represent one of the most effective models for long-term well-being.

It is a way to live typical of the Mediterranean countries in the 1950-60s, especially Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, and Greece.
Set dietary patterns, local seasonal ingredients, biodiversity, practices, traditions, group and social activities, physical exercise, adequate rest, meal preparation, and consumption are all core components of it.
It is a part of the Italian culture and heritage. It is referred to as a sustainable diet model that is eco-friendly.
The key to following the Mediterranean Diet is to think of it as a way of life rather than a quick fix or strict meal plan adapting the diet's principles to your specific life needs and food preferences will allow you to live a healthier, better, and longer life.
-
Studies, research, data, and results recognized by science and world humanity organizations show that the Mediterranean Diet, when combined with other lifestyle factors, reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, dementia, breast cancer, prostate cancer, digestive tract cancers, and colorectal cancer. It has been shown to prevent cognitive decline, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease. It also lowers the risk of obesity and Type 2 diabetes. MD has been shown to slow the aging process.
The Mediterranean Diet improves the overall health and well-being of those who follow it.

The Mediterranean diet includes all meals, without exception, when they are eaten in moderation and balanced with friends and family. With a high intake of fresh and dried fruit, vegetables, legumes, cereals, whole grains, nuts, and seeds, "The New Mediterranean diet Italian Food Pyramid" is a graphical representation of the frequencies and portion sizes of each food group. The main source of fat is olive oil, and fresh herbs are added for taste. Dairy products, red, and cured meat are consumed in moderation, along with white meat eggs, and fish.
Red wine is consumed in moderation while large amounts of water are consumed. Dessert consumption is occasionally mentioned as well.
The Mediterranean Diet's success is largely due to the portion sizes and frequency of its consumption.
-
Based on our current studies and tests, the cost of eating the healthy Mediterranean Diet is between $ 8 and $ 10 a day per person in the United States and € 5-8 in Europe for three meals and two snacks.
The Mediterranean Diet is the original diet of the low-income Italians from the olive-growing areas of the Mediterranean region during the 1950s and early 1960s. Italians ate with frugality, consumed plenty of vegetables and fruit, and cooked their healthy meals with the ingredients produced by their land and farmed.
The Mediterranean Diet is found in nature and among the Italians of the 1950s.
By spending an average of $ 10 a day on your groceries, you will improve your health and life and live longer!

A common gap between perception and reality
Most people believe their diet is healthy. However, large-scale population research from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) shows a different picture.
Across the U.S. population, nearly half of adults have objectively poor diet quality, yet many still rate their diet as healthy. This gap between perception and reality is one of the most important challenges in modern nutrition, because it prevents people from recognizing where improvement is actually needed.
What this tells us is simple: improving nutrition is not only about information—it is about clarity, structure, and feedback that reflects real dietary behavior.
Why this matters for you
When perception and reality do not align, meaningful long-term change becomes difficult without a structured system.
This is why general advice is often not enough—and why guided frameworks like the Mediterranean approach provide a clearer path forward.

Honoring the Pioneers of Mediterranean Nutrition Science
The Meals For Longevity Program is not just a collection of recipes; it is a continuation of a scientific legacy. We honor the three pillars of Mediterranean health whose work forms the DNA of every meal we organize:
Ancel Keys (1904–2004): The pioneer who first revealed the heart-healthy secrets of the Mediterranean lifestyle to the world.
Anna Ferro Luzzi (1934–2019): The architect of precision. Her rigorous work at the Sapienza Università di Roma gave the diet its quantitative structure—defining the exact frequencies and quantities needed for health.
Carlo Cannella (1943–2011): The modern visionary. As a promoter of the UNESCO recognition, he transformed the diet into a sustainable, 21st-century system. His concept of "Quanto Basta" (QB)—the perfect balance—is the heartbeat of our "Effortless" philosophy.
"I have spent 15,000 hours reopening their studies to ensure that the MFL Program isn't just a diet, but a living bridge to their life-saving wisdom." > — Executive Chef Giuseppe Urbano
